Our story starts in 2017, Miranda was a freshman in college and I was a sophomore. We met through mutual friends, and at the time we were just friends. Fast forward six years later, I reach out to Mir out of the blue. I’m single and have nothing to lose. At first, Miranda was skeptical as to why as I was reaching out, but I assured her I was interested. About a month later, we went on our first date. It was the peak of fall, so I decided to take her to Ed Dunnebacks for some drinks and live country music. We connected so easily and had a lot to catch up on. The night seemed to get away from us. Miranda shared with me that she was wrapping up her last two semesters at the University of Michigan to obtain her Masters in Social Work. I explained to her that I was in my first year of transitioning to a completely different career field. It was a perfect first date. Very soon after, a second date occured. The next six months felt like a blur. Before I knew it, we were driving two hours from Grand Rapids to Ann Arbor and vice versa to just see each other every other weekend. We fell hard for each other. After countless FaceTimes and miles on my car, Miranda finished Grad school and moved back to Grand Rapids. We were inseparable, we felt like we were making up for lost time. We prioritized not only our relationship with each other but with Christ as well. After making so many amazing memories together, on July 26, 2025, I asked Miranda to marry me. Reflecting back on the last two and half years, God has truly moved through us. Our friends and family have supported us together since the beginning. We are forever grateful to have one another and an amazing support system. Next item on the to-do list: Get Married!
