The City of Cartagena
Explore Historic Cartagena: one of the oldest cities in Europe, founded over 2200 years ago. Roman Theatre/Museum: See the beautifully preserved ancient Roman theatre and learn about the city’s history. Cartagena Old Town: Wander the charming streets, admire historic architecture, and stop by the plazas and fountains. Castillo de la Concepción: A hilltop castle with panoramic views of the city and harbor. Cartagena Port: Take a walk along the port of Cartagena, enjoying beautiful waterfront views (a great spot for lunch as 2 of our favourite restaurants are located here - Alviento and Restaurante Cuarenta y tres 43).
La Manga
Highly Recommended Day Trip! La Manga del Mar Menor is a stunning stretch of sand that sits between two seas: the calm, crystal-clear Mar Menor on one side and the bright blue Mediterranean on the other. It’s one of those rare places where you can watch the sun rise over one sea and set over another, all in the same day.
Catedral de Murcia
While you’re in the region, we highly recommend visiting the Cathedral of Murcia. This stunning landmark combines Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles, making it a true gem of Spain’s historical heritage.

Here are some of our favourite restaurants in the area! *Note: If you are staying at Mar Menor Golf Resort, we do not recommend eating on the boulevard (located right outside the resort gates). This is a strip of restaurants catered to tourists, and unfortunately they are not very good. ⭐️If you are eating inside the resort, we recommend eating at any of the hotel restaurants.
