About a 25 minute drive from our venue We visited Niagara Falls together in 2022, and it was Sarah's first time—probably David's millionth! If you haven't been, it's definitely worth the trip. Just make sure to dress warm—it can get really chilly, especially if you’re near the mist!
We all know David’s love for food, but did you know that Buffalo is known for a TON of unique foods like Buffalo Wings (obviously), Beef on Weck, Sahlen's Hot Dogs, Loganberry, Stuffed Banana Peppers, Poutine, Sponge Candy, etc! Here are some of David's restaurant recommendations: For Wings: Wing Nutz, Bar Bill Tavern, Gabriel's Gate For Beef on Weck: Charlie the Butcher For Sahlen's Hotdogs: Ted's BBQ: Fat Bob’s Smokehouse Bistro: Coco Bar & Bistro Fine Dining: Hutch’s
About a 5 minute drive from our venue This is one of Buffalo's go-to spots for fun activities and events by the water. You can hang out, enjoy cool events, and even go kayaking or ice skating in the winter. There are plenty of places to eat in this area, and it's a great spot to relax in the city.
About a 10 minute drive from our venue A beautiful spot in Buffalo that we visited in 2021 together. Walk beside the lake, go paddle boating, and enjoy the walking paths at the park. This is also where the Art Museum and History Museum are located.
About a 10 minute drive from our venue This museum has a great collection of modern and contemporary art, from paintings and sculptures to photography and video art. It's located in the Hoyt Lake area, which is a beautiful location.
About a 10 minute drive from our venue If you appreciate architecture, should should absolutely visit The Martin House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is full of intricate details, beautiful stained glass, and it's a very peaceful spot to visit.
About a 15 minute drive from our venue We went here for Sarah's birthday in 2022. It's a beautiful spot to enjoy nature, explore the trails, and possibly see some wildlife!
About a 30 minute drive from our venue Did you know that there's a small flame that burns "eternally"? The flame burns in a cave behind a waterfall, fueled by natural gas seeping from the rocks (cool right?!) It's quite the hike though, so keep that in mind. We went in 2022 and it was definitely a great memory!
About a 1.5-2 hour drive from Buffalo We visited Toronto in 2022 and it was the best time! It's pretty easy to drive there - you'll cross the border and likely be there within 2 hours. We'd suggest visiting the CN Tower - we went up to the top and it was SUPER cool! You can make it a day trip, or stay a bit longer!
About a 1-hour flight from Buffalo We're grateful to have friends all over the country (and world!!), so if you've never visited NYC, this could be a great time to do so! You could drive about 7 hours, but we'd recommend hopping on a 1-hour flight! We've taken this trip DOZENS of times and we can give you tons of NYC recs - just ask :)
