How We Met

1.3.21

We met in Portales, NM. I was still attending college while she worked at Roosevelt Brewing. Alejandra had never been on a real date so she was weary when I had asked her to a coffee date. The first date was practically three dates all in one filled with coffee, grocery shopping and weight lifting. We immediately clicked and felt too good to be true. We connected on baseball and softball, enjoying sports, and both love to be outside. Alejandra will always be the more outgoing person but she brought out the best in me ever since our first date.

The Proposal

4.2.23

Lawrence had this planned since February of 2023 after our one year anniversary. Like they say, when you know you know. He had a bunch of different ideas and finally decided to do it at the Sandia Peak after dinner at TEN 3. (Funny story; he took my dad out to breakfast at Weck's and was supposed to ask for permission there but he said "there was too many people," so instead he asked my dad for permission in my garage while I was taking a nap upstairs.) Before we even left to the tram, he called just to confirm our reservation, but the hostess told him there wasn't a reservation in place and panic set in. He immediately called his good buddy Dustin, and he immediately rushed over there and fixed it for him. We had an amazing dinner and one of the best views in the city. When we were getting ready to go, he decided to have us look at the sunset, but before doing so I saw some flowers on the ground and the 'hoodrat' came out of me and I said aww someone got proposed to, and proceeded to say we should steal these and he told me no. It was also very cold up there and I kept asking for his coat and he kept avoiding giving me his coat. I was very focused on being cold until I heard him say "I love you very much," the rest of what he said was a blur, he said my full name and started getting down on one knee, and I cried like a little baby because I couldn't believe he was proposing. Of course I said yes, he is the most amazing person I've ever met and I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else.

For all the days along the way
