Answer

The wedding and reception will both be held at Valley Road Vineyard in Afton, Virginia. A cocktail hour and reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

How do we get to the wedding venue?How do we get to the wedding venue?

Answer

We will be providing a complimentary shuttle to and from the wedding/reception venue. The shuttle will depart the Holiday Inn-Monticello and the Holiday Inn Express-Pantops at 4:30 PM sharp. There will be an early shuttle that returns from our venue to the hotels at 8:45 PM and a late shuttle at 10:30 PM. There is plenty of complimentary parking at the venue if you prefer to drive. If you plan to leave your car overnight and utilize the shuttle on your way home, please park in the grassy parking area that is off the right side when you drive into Valley Road Vineyards.

Answer

We are planning to host both our ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors in a grassy area overlooking the mountains and lake (weather permitting). The reception will be held indoors in the barn but will have an outdoor deck area to enjoy, as well.

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:30 PM. We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early so that you have time to find your seat.

Answer

Formal. Gentleman should wear either a suit or sport coat/blazer with a tie. For the ladies, a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit are recommended. The ceremony will be in a grassy area and may require walking on some gravel surfaces so please be mindful when choosing your shoes.

Answer

We will be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet at our reception with chicken, beef and vegetarian options. An open bar with beer, wine and spirits will be available. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions in your RSVP.

Answer

Late September is a weather transition period between Summer and Fall in Charlottesville. Average highs are in the 60s-70s with lows in the 50s and 60s. There is some variability during this time of year and could potentially be much warmer or cooler so we'd recommend checking the weather prior to your travel.
