Nope! We are excited and grateful that you are taking the time to travel to our favorite place in the world to celebrate a very special day with us. We are requesting no physical gifts as it will be difficult to travel with. We don't need much, but if you'd like to gift something please check out our Registry page.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes!
Roundtrip nonstop rates from LAX to CUN are typically around $350-$400. Flights tend to be the most inexpensive when you book between four months and three weeks from your departure date. Use an app like Hopper to alert you of price increases/price drops. They're pretty good about letting you know if you should wait or buy immediately.
We recommend booking a shuttle service to your hotel ahead of time. A lot of hotels offer shuttle options for a fee, so check online or with your concierge. There are also plenty of cabs waiting outside of the airport. Ignore the travel booths inside of the airport, they will try to grab your attention. Just keep walking. If you think you will be traveling far and going on far away excursions it may be best to rent a car. There is a car rental place right outside of the airport. We have used this company in the past and thought they were great. They do have you purchase their specific car insurance, so there is no need to purchase car insurance ahead of time. Just do it in person, it will save you money.
It is not required for guests to stay at this hotel. However, we do recommend it for guests as it is in the popular hotel zone in Tulum, has several delicious restaurants on site, and is steps away from the most beautiful beach with the warmest waters and softest sand you have ever touched. Hotel Pocna is located in the North Beach zone and is only 3 miles to Beach Town (middle beach) zone.
Yes! Please message either of us privately and we'd love to put you in contact with a great friend of ours who can point you in the right direction.
This is the strip where all those beautiful posts you see on Instagram are taken. There are an endless amount of beautiful hotels, delicious restaurants, fun beach clubs, amazing art installations as well as convenience shops and pharmacies. There are archaeological sites such as cenotes and Mayan ruins close by.
Only about a 12 minute cab ride! Most Airbnb and hotels will have a concierge that can call a cab for you.
1. Do not drink from the tap! Make sure all water consumed is from a bottle. You will most likely be fine accepting water from restaurants in the beach zone. I'd recommend buying jugs of water from any of the nearby stores. 2. Bug spray is your friend! You will be in the jungle. If you plan to swim in a cenote or lagoon, check with the location on what type of bug spray, if any, is allowed. 3. Sunscreen! However, if you plan on visiting a cenote or Sian Ka'an, you will not be permitted to enter the water with any creams or lotions as this threatens the health of the fragile ecosystem. Some do permit mineral-based/biodegradable sunscreens. The following sunscreens don't contain oxybenzone or octinoxate, and most are available on Amazon or your local drugstore: -Clinique Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 -BeautyCounter -Aveno Baby -La Roche-Posay Face -Thinksport Natural Sunscreen SPF 50 -Skin Medica Mineral Shield 4. Let your credit card company know you are traveling ahead of time. Also, check your cards to see if you posses any that don't charge Foreign Transaction Fees.
