★ INCHEON AIPORT (ICN) ★ It seems to be far from Seoul, but it’s not too bad considering all the duty-free shopping and cultural activities you can do at the airport! Since 2005, ICN has been rated the best airport worldwide by Airports Council International every year. The airport has a golf course, spa, private sleeping rooms, an ice skating rink, a casino, indoor gardens, and a museum of Korean Culture. If you are coming to South Korea for the first time, I suggest landing at ICN. There are English speakers at the information desk. We suggest taking an airport limousine (e.g., No. 6011) to the nearest subway station (e.g., Anguk or Gyeongbokgung), then taking a taxi to your hotel. ★ GIMPO AIRPORT (GMP) ★ Gimpo Airport is located very close to the center of Seoul. If you are confident taking subways (Line 5) or buses without English speakers’ help, this will be a more adventurous option for you. Gimpo Airport may offer more affordable options to those flying from other Asian countries. We suggest taking subway Line 5. Click to find out different options of transportation/fares
Travel Note
Seoul is an enormous city, housing more than 10 million people! So naturally, there are many lodging options in Seoul, each with its own set of benefits and downsides. Although we appreciate that everyone has their own set of preferences (e.g., neighborhood, price, proximity to sightseeing sites), we propose finding a place near Gyeongbokgung Palace (shaded in pink on the map). Please feel free to book any place near Gyeongbokgung Palace (i.e. shaded in pink), preferably proximate to subway/Metro stations named (1) Gyeongbokgung Station (line 3), (2) Anguk Station (line 3), and (3) Gwanghwamun Station (line 5). On the wedding day, March 17th, we will arrange a private shuttle to pick you up from your hotel or nearby metro stations (e.g. Gyeongbokgung Station or Anguk Station). Our Wedding Venue is also pinned on the map in color red.
Travel Note
Booking one of the lodging options above near Gyeongbokgung Palace comes with several benefits. Gyeongbokgung Palace is one of the “must-see” main royal palaces of Joseon Dynasty located in the northern, older part of the city, that is also walking distance to other great sightseeing spots and areas, such as: § Changdeokgung Palace (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changdeokgung) § Cheonggyecheon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheonggyecheon) § Insadong area (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insa-dong) § Myeongdong area (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myeong-dong) § Bukchon Hanok village (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukchon_Hanok_Village)
