Naples International Airport (NAP) is the closest major airport to Sorrento, and the journey is much shorter. Private Transfer/Taxi: This is the most comfortable and convenient option. You can pre-book a private car service to meet you at the airport and drive you directly to your hotel. This is a great choice if you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with a group. Shuttle Bus: The Curreri Viaggi shuttle bus runs directly from the Naples airport to Sorrento's main train station. This is a great budget-friendly and direct option. Train: This is a popular and very affordable option. You will first need to take a shuttle bus (the Alibus) from the airport to Napoli Centrale train station. From there, you can take either the local Circumvesuviana train or the more modern and slightly faster Campania Express train to Sorrento. Ferry: For a scenic and relaxing journey, you can take a ferry from the Molo Beverello pier in Naples to the port of Sorrento. This option provides beautiful views of the Bay of Naples but requires a separate trip from the airport to the port.

Here are the best ways to get from Rome to Sorrento: Train: This is the fastest and most popular option. First, take a high-speed train (either Trenitalia or Italo) from Rome's main station, Roma Termini, to Naples' main station, Napoli Centrale. This trip takes just over an hour. From Napoli Centrale, you have two options to get to Sorrento: the local Circumvesuviana train or the Campania Express tourist train. The Campania Express is a bit more expensive but offers a more comfortable ride with fewer stops and guaranteed seating. The Circumvesuviana is a cheaper, local commuter train that can be crowded, especially during rush hour. Private Transfer: For the ultimate convenience, you can book a private car transfer to take you directly from the airport in Rome to your accommodation in Sorrento. This is the most expensive option, but it's a great choice if you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with a group. Bus: There are also direct bus services that run from Rome's bus station (Autostazione Tiburtina) to Sorrento. This is generally the most budget-friendly option, but the journey takes considerably longer than the train.
