Things To Do

We are thrilled to be having our wedding right where we live in historic Old City! We wanted to share a mix of top attractions, historic landmarks and our favorite local spots. We hope you enjoy!!

Reading Terminal Market

51 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 922-2317

Recently named the best farmers market in the country according to the Online Farmers Market, but we’ve been enjoying the splendor of this market for years! We love to browse the different vendors, pick out ingredients for crockpot Sundays and treat ourselves to jumbo shrimp cocktail! * Deirdre’s Top Pick: Cannoli from Termini Brothers Bakery * Gabe’s Top Pick: Roast Pork Sandwich from DiNic’s Roast Pork

Lucha Cartel

207 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
, (267) 761-9209

This is our favorite Mexican spot in Old City. To be fair, we LOVE Mexican and have a lot of faves throughout the city, but let’s keep it local. They have a great brunch and no TVs which is nice if you really want to reconnect. *Deirdre’s Top Pick: Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita (feeling HOT, HOT, HOT!) & Fresh Guac with Bacon AND Corn (just go for it!) * Gabe’s Top Pick: Try the Torta Ahogado--a spicy pork sandwich!

Cafe Ole

147 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
, (215) 627-2140

This our favorite local coffee shop! It's a cozy spot to sit and enjoy your coffee. For breakfast, we recommend the Shakshuka, but the hummus is delicious any time!

Museum of the American Revolution

Starting September 28, Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier exhibit will be showing at the museum. Follow the untold story of Irish soldier and artist Richard St. George, whose personal trauma and untimely death provide a window into the entangled histories of the American Revolution of 1776 and the Irish Revolution of 1798. The art he created and commissioned provides a unique perspective of the physical and emotional costs of these revolutionary moments.
