LAX to Athens (ATH)

For all of our Los Angeles people, there is only 1 direct flight to Athens. Majority seem to be 1 layover. The direct flight is through Norse Atlantic Airways.

For all of our Philly people, there are a few airlines that offer non stop flights, which look to be about 9 and a half hours. The following airlines are non stop: American, Finnair, British Air, Iberia.

Ferry Information

Once landing in Athens, you will need to take a Ferry to the island of Syros (and any other island you may want to visit during the trip). There are a few options for Ferries, the shorter trips take 2 hours, while the longer ones take about 4. There are food courts and bars on board so you can sit back, enjoy the views and relax! While there are no direct flights to Syros from the US, there are a few options to get there from Athens. In addition to Ferry options, Athens airport has smaller flights to Syros which can be found with the link below.

From ATH (airport) to Athens

The best ways to get to Athens from the Airport will be Taxi, Uber, Metro, or Bus. There are also some pickup services available if you would like to schedule beforehand. Driving will take about 30 minutes from the Airport to the City Center. The Metro will be a 40 minute ride, and the shortest bus is 35 minutes.
