Before we got engaged, Matt and I always said we would elope. As our close friends and family know, we love traveling together, usually checking a couple locations off our bucket list each year. Some of our favorites include Glacier National Park, Tetons, Costa Rica, Amsterdam and Turkey. After experiencing so many amazing countries and cultures, we could easily imagine our ceremony taking place at a beautiful, outdoor location that had meaning to us. After Matt proposed, the reality of wedding planning set in; we spent many weeks and countless hours searching for venues, wedding planners, florists, photographers, and caterers, all with the goal of ensuring the location was accessible to as many of our friends and family as possible. Every night after work it was all we could talk about. And just when we thought we had finally found our place and it came time to book, it didn't feel right. It didn't feel like us. After a lot of discussion (and maybe a few stressful tears) we landed on Ireland! But then had to cancel, so Jackson!
We understand that traveling out of state is a big ask, even in normal times. While we are confident that we can all safely gather toward the end of 2021, we know it won’t be possible for everyone we love and care about to attend. If you can and are able, we are so excited to have you. If you can’t make it to Jackson – don’t worry! We have already planned for a celebration September, 18th at Nancy and Gary's home in Cleveland after we return from our honeymoon.
