We can't wait to share our special day with you. Consider this home base for all of the details of our wedding weekend - check back regularly for updates!
We are so excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends soon! Regardless of whether or not you have symptoms, we would very much appreciate it if all guests would self-test for COVID-19 prior to traveling and/or attending events on Friday or Saturday. We are continuing to monitor CDC guidelines, as well as local and federal regulations, and will provide additional updates, as needed, regarding safety measures and precautions we are taking to ensure all of our guests stay happy and healthy on our big day.
For our guests who are planning to use the shuttle bus service, two coach buses will depart The Westin at approximately 3:15pm, shuttling guests to the Ceremony venue. Following the Ceremony, two coach buses will shuttle guests between the Ceremony and Reception venues. There will be multiple return trips starting at 9:00pm from the Reception venue back to The Westin.
Sarah and Pete’s first date was at the Center City, Philadelphia establishment Strangelove’s - a fitting choice as, within a few weeks, the world would be turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic. They spent the following months navigating the strange new normal together and, as fate would have it, they fell in love. The pair primarily spent their time exploring the great outdoors, happening upon several must-see destinations in the Mid-Atlantic region - the Kennedy Covered Bridge in Kimberton, Pennsylvania; the Volendam Windmill in Milford, New Jersey; the Cape May Lighthouse; and several other true historic gems. They also ventured to Charlottesville, Virginia and Burlington, Vermont - ‘pilgrimages’ to their two respective graduate schools, UVA and UVM - where Sarah began to understand the full depth of Pete’s teenage love for The Dave Matthews Band, and Pete learned that Sarah will stop at nothing to try and pet a shaggy-coated Highland cow. The two have been living it up on Lemon Street together for the past several months, during which time Pete has expanded his culinary skills beyond pizza. Though Sarah whole-heartedly agrees that “Petesza” should become a thing, she has been delighted to enjoy the fruits of her husband-to-be's labors.
She successfully completed LEGOLAND Driving School a half dozen times as a child, and Sarah and Pete’s office now doubles as a ‘LEGO Display Room’ for their various creations. As Sarah was finishing up the LEGO Flower Bouquet she had been gifted for her birthday, Pete pointed out that she was missing a piece. Sarah takes LEGO craft very seriously - she never misses a piece! She looked around, shuffled through the extra pieces, and tried to assess what could be missing; meanwhile, Pete had gotten down on the floor to search. Declaring that he had found the missing piece, Pete emerged from beneath the table and presented Sarah with his grandmother’s ring. In shock, Sarah was at a loss for words, but eventually said “yes”!
