We met through our dear friend Sarah Kopkin. McKenzie thought Ethan was the cutest and just had to know who he was, so she texted Sarah. It just so happened Ethan would be the one to open up that message and we've been together ever since. Ethan took McKenzie to prom a few weeks later and that was when we knew just how much of a gift that chance meeting was. We officially started dating on April 1st, 2016 which is very fitting for us. Ethan introduced McKenzie into the car community and we have spent countless hours attending all kinds of events, including the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance where we were engaged. 7 years later we have graduated college, started our own separate careers, gone on many adventures, and began creating our first home. This next chapter of our lives is so exciting and we can't wait to continue building our lives together. We’ve always known we were the ones for each other, and July 6, 2024 can't come soon enough! We are so excited to celebrate with you all.
Originally Ethan had planned to choose a ring and propose while visiting Aruba back in 2022. In true McKenzie fashion, she somehow managed to lose her passport the night before we were set to depart on our trip. Unknowingly, she had sabotaged her own proposal (for the first time). Fast forward to August of 2022, Ethan and McKenzie’s mother collaborated to turn her grandmother's heirloom diamond into a beautiful ring of it's own. How Ethan managed to keep the ring hidden for so long is beyond her, but he was able to keep it a secret up until the very end. We attended the 2023 Concours d'Elegance on Amelia Island just as we had the previous year, looking forward to beautiful weather and impressive cars not thinking of what else was soon to come. On the second day of our trip Ethan’s camera fell and was down for the count. Immediately McKenzie left to find a replacement for our weekend. When she met back up with Ethan, she was exhausted and ready to call it a day and head back to the hotel. He urged her to take a walk down to the beach. Despite her lack of enthusiasm, he was persistent and we finally made our way down to the water. It was only when she realized his friends (also photographers) had all stayed back a bit that she knew he was about to propose. Ethan asked to pose for a picture and next thing McKenzie knew he was down on one knee. It was the easiest YES she’d ever said and such a thoughtful way to incorporate everything we love into the perfect proposal.
