Most international cards (Visa, Mastercard) work inside the country. However, many establishments have extra card fees and prefer being paid in cash in Bolivianos. Withdrawing cash inside the country is difficult, so we recommend bringing US dollars in cash and exchanging them for the local currency. AMEX cards are rarely accepted at places that aren't hotels.
Ubers and local rideshare apps are available, however we recommed using the hotel taxis as they are more reliable and trusted drivers. You can also take an airport cab from VVI to your hotel, but we recommend requesting a private car or shuttle from your hotel to and from the airport.
