Answer
Our wedding day will unfold throughout the day with various, intimate events. Details for earlier celebrations will be shared within the invitations of those attending. Saturday evening, we look forward to welcoming our full circle of family and friends for a White Party at Bowens Island Restaurant!

This isn’t a traditional wedding format, why are you celebrating this way?
Answer
We know our timeline may look a little different than a typical wedding day, and that’s intentional. We wanted our ceremony to be small and personal, while still creating space to celebrate with all of the people who mean so much to us! Rather than a formal reception with a set dinner and schedule, we’re choosing an evening that feels relaxed and social; full of music, conversation, and time together. This format allows us to truly connect with everyone instead of moving through a structured timeline. For us, that feels more meaningful!

What should I expect at the White Party?
Answer
Think summer party in Charleston! The evening will include live music, beer and wine, servers passing hors d’oeuvres and light bites throughout the evening, and a relaxed, social atmosphere. This will not be a traditional seated dinner reception. Instead, we’re intentionally keeping things light and flowing. We wanted the focus of the evening to be on what matters most to us; conversation, connection, and truly enjoying each other’s presence. Fewer formalities and no big sit-down meal means more time to mingle, catch up, and celebrate together!

What is the dress code?
Answer
Since it’s June in Charleston, we’re encouraging guests to wear white to keep things light, cool, and summery. The level of formality is entirely up to you! Because everyone will be in white, the overall look will feel cohesive no matter how you choose to style it. You might opt for something casual and breezy like linen or cotton, or go for a more elevated, tailored look, both are equally welcome. All-white looks are encouraged! For men, there’s no need to go out and buy white pants you may never wear again. Light-wash denim or light khakis are perfectly appropriate as pairing pieces. For women, white dresses, skirts, pants, or tailored shorts are all welcome, with the option to mix in light-wash denim or khaki for an easy, well-balanced look. Above all, we want you to feel like yourself while embracing the theme of the evening!

Will there be dinner in the evening?
Answer
The evening will feature a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres and small bites passed throughout the celebration. Since we’re gathering at 7:00 PM, you may choose to enjoy something beforehand if you’d like! The heart of the night is less about a formal meal and more about quality time together!

How do I know what I am invited to?
Answer
Simply, the ceremony and events during the day are tailored to our immediate family. Detail cards will be included in your invitation regarding these events. Furthermore, rsvp options will reflect the events included in your invitation!

With it being summertime in Charleston, there will be plenty of Ubers and Lyfts available before and after the celebration. If you prefer to drive, Bowens Island offers ample parking, and you’re welcome to leave your car overnight if you choose to rideshare or head out with friends afterward!
