Anything you need to make your fresh air loving heart content! Tent(s), sleeping bag(s) and whatever else makes you feel at home. There is a nice bath house on site, which will be open to anyone staying there overnight. The main hall will not be available for sleeping in overnight (FL state law). All sites are primitive, so there are no electrical hook-ups available.
We are asking that you keep all pets at home for this one. Sorry about that!
Great question! We will be opening up camp sites Thursday afternoon (around 3:00pm). We do ask that you vacate the premises by Monday morning at 9:00am. We have to be out by 11:00am and need to leave the place spotless.
The designated camping area is open and under beautiful oak trees with Spanish moss (my absolute favorite!). Yes, this will be on a "first come, first serve" basis. RVs planning on staying with us will have a designated spot to ensure there's enough room for everyone! If you want to tent camp and want to be next to someone parked in an RV, we can make accommodations.
Lake? What lake? Just kidding. Yes, it is very much on a lake. We do not advise swimming, as there are more than likely alligators present. If you wish to bring a kayak or canoe, you are more than welcome to paddle at your own risk. No motorized boats, please.
Due to FL state laws, no. The only fire allowed on the premises is the big one we will have roaring each night. Come and hang out. We like you! Bring your camping chair too!
Short answer: no. That will be up to you fine folks! When it comes to food, bring a cooler. We will have a fire going at night, so if you want to roast dinner over the open fire, go for it! In the main hall, there is a microwave in the kitchen at your disposal as well. We do ask that all food and coolers be stored away in your vehicles or RVs nightly for your safety. This is a forest and home to many bears who would gladly eat your rations if given the chance. (NO FEEDING THE BEARS!)
