Things To Do on MV

We're so excited for you to experience the island! Made up of 6 distinct towns, the Vineyard is bigger and more diverse than many realize. The main downtowns of Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, and Vineyard Haven are great places to stay, shop and eat, while the more quiet "up island" towns of West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah offer site seeing, galleries, and hiking. We've mapped out a few of favorite spots and things to do island wide!

Bad Martha Farmers Brewery

270 Upper Main Street, Edgartown, MA 02539
, (508) 939-4415

On island beer garden. Great atmosphere, better beer! Dog and kid friendly. Cheese boards galore!

Nomans

15 Island Inn Road, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557
, (508) 338-2474

Delicious food and drinks that can be enjoyed on the lawn with live music. Kid friendly, open day and night!

19 Raw Oyster Bar

19 Church Street, Edgartown, MA 02539
, (774) 224-0550

Small plate and Tapa style bites. Open for lunch and dinner. A total treat!

Beach Road

Beach Road, Tisbury, MA 02568

$1 oysters from 5pm-6pm everyday! This is probably our favorite date night spot... and favorite spot to meet and make friends at the bar. A little upscale.

Nancy's Restaurant

29 Lake Avenue, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557
, (508) 693-0006

An island staple. Good for a sit down meal or take out style eating along the Oak Bluffs Harbor. Don't forget to wait in line for a Dirty Banana!

Among the Flowers Cafe

17 Mayhew Lane, Edgartown, MA 02539
, (508) 627-3233

Owned and operated by friends, this is our favorite little breakfast spot on island. Mikey says get the double stacked waffles.

7aFoods

1045 State Road, West Tisbury, MA 02575
, (508) 693-4636

Breakfast takeout to hit on your way up island. If you get the breakfast sandwich, ask for the special biscuit.

Menemsha

Chilmark, MA 02535

Menemsha is an authentic fishing village located in the rural town of Chilmark. It's an iconic spot to set up a little beach picnic and watch the sunset. There are little shops, take out food, galleries and more in the town. We recommend heading up about an hour before sunset and making a night of it!

Menemsha Hills Reservation Beach

Chilmark, MA 02535

There are so many hiking trails all over the island, Menemsha Hills tends to be the favorite. It's an easy to moderate hike, leading to endless water views.

Aquinnah Cliffs Overlook

31 Aquinnah Circle, Aquinnah, MA 02535

The Aquinnah Cliffs are located on the far west side of the island, land that still belongs to the Wampanoag natives. They are a national landmark that really shouldn't be missed. The ride alone is worth the journey allllll the way up island. (take Middle Road!)

Flying Horses Carousel

15 Oak Bluffs Avenue, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557
, (508) 693-9481

The country's oldest carousel- an iconic Vineyard attraction.

Granary Gallery

636 Old County Road, West Tisbury, MA 02575
, (508) 693-0455

One of Paulina's favorite things about the island is the local art. The Granary is the island's oldest gallery and carries quite an impressive collection. (You should check out the Field Gallery too)

Alley's General Store

1045 State Road, West Tisbury, MA 02575
, (508) 693-0088

An eclectic general store filled with local produce, candy, toys, and gooood coffee. Definitely stop in on your way up island.

For all the days along the way
