There are many points of interest along the parkway for the entire family to enjoy – it runs just over 469 miles from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia to Cherokee, North Carolina. There are 26 tunnels on this ridgetop road. There are many famous hikes along the parkway; we highly recommend you check out the locals’ favorite short hike to Black Balsam knob, an incredible high-elevation grassy bald that will make you feel like you’re in Lord of the Rings!
