The story of Mike and Joanna started on a beautiful lake known as the Shuswap. Joanna had been in a group taking part in the common Shuswap lake adventure known as houseboating. With an almost full boat, Marly Jefferies made a call out to friends to try and fill the ship....Jerred Moberg answered that call. After some discussion, Jerred convinced both Mike and Arch to join him on this magical journey in which all three of them had experienced just a couple months earlier. Except this time the trio were going in almost blind and didn't have a clue what to expect. It was departure day at the Sicamous Harbor and tensions were high. Everybody was getting to know each other while trying to figure out what kind of person they were gonna be after 14 beer and endless Jello shots. As the boat set sail for the vast lake in front of them, there was one thing for certain, love was in the air. Fast forward to Neilson Beach, a popular, secluded, party beach approximately 1 day sail from the harbor; an enormous storm had just hit, ragdolling most of the fleet like they were mere toy ships. Soaking wet from using every ounce of man strength to help bring order to the desheveled beach, Mike returned to the boat to change. While passing by the bathroom, where the lovely Joanna was blow drying her hair, Mike asked if she was doing ok from the violent squall. She said she was fine and began to blow dry Mike's hair for him as she could see was wet and cold......Heart Eyes. From that point, they were inseparable. They party hopped on other boats together, walked the beach, danced and cuddled. In the following months after their houseboating trip, both Mike and Joanna went on numerous dates and continued to find more and more things that they had in common. They were fast becoming best friends and, even more than that, they were falling in love.
