We met in 2018 while working at Abma’s Farm. Jillian worked in the farm market and events, while Mike was a farm hand out in the fields. He’d come into the market on his breaks, grabbing something small to eat or drink, mostly just so we could talk at the register. In the fall, Jillian loaded families onto Mike’s tractor for hayrides and would get a little too excited whenever his voice came over the walkie-talkie saying he was on his way back to unload. When work slowed down in the fields during the winter months, Mike started working in the market with Jillian. For some reason, they kept scheduling us for the same shifts, probably because we flirted nonstop. We finally started dating the following year, and we’ve been each other’s favorite person ever since.
