Let’s Party!

Michael and Gabriella met each other online, on Bumble. She swiped right because she loved how genuine he seemed. She liked that his priorities were God and family, it also helped that he looked very handsome in his photos. He swiped right because he thought "here is an attractive woman with the same love for family, business, and God as myself." He felt it refreshing that she wrote about how she preferred a phone call over impersonal texting in her profile...and that's exactly what they did when they matched!

After talking on the phone, Michael invited Gabriella to Gastro Park in West Hartford, CT for a first date. They were both relieved when the connection they felt over the phone was immediately evident and even stronger in person. The more they shared with each other, the more clear it was that they held similar values, goals, and passions in life. In fact, they were both so engrossed in conversation that they forgot to order, only stopping to notice because the place started closing!

Back in April, Michael bought Gabriella a yellow notebook so they could take turns writing a page to each other and exchanging the book every time they met. On their trip to San Diego to visit Michael’s brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Gabriella were dropped off at Schwamee Beach “to find a good spot to sit and drink champagne to celebrate the accepted offer on a new home for Michael’s bother and sister-in-law.” (which was true, and later celebrated, but not why they were dropped off at the beach) As they were walking the beach, they came across the yellow notebook. In it was a letter from Michael - three pages expressing his love for Gabriella and the relationship they have together followed by a “will you marry me?” When Gabriella looked up from the page, Michael was down on one knee, ring in hand. She said YES! With the help of his brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Carla, Michael managed to surprise Gabriella with the most perfect sunset-on-the-beach proposal. He bought that yellow notebook in April with exactly that purpose in mind.

Time with family and friends is something very important to us both. With so many of our family members being far away, we decided to host a weekend wedding to create beautiful memories together with the people we love. We both agreed that one night could not contain the party we have in store for all of you. Forest Lake Camp is a traditional overnight summer camp located just north of Lake George in the southern Adirondack mountains. The camp has 823 acres of field, forest and a spring-fed lake.
