Michael and Emily met in the fall of 2014 at Illinois State University and instantly became close. Michael had a crush on Emily but she kept him as a friend. Michael and Emily hung out with the same group of friends until the fall of 2015, at which time Emily started having feelings for Michael. Emily told Michael her feelings and Michael told her his feelings had never changed for her. Michael made Emily a pot pie for their first date and took her to the movies a week later. A month into seeing each other Michael asked Emily to be his girlfriend and they started dating officially. They had to tell their friend group and families that they were dating, and everybody was shocked. 5 years later, with a lot of long distance, which included Michael attending ISU one additional semester than Emily, Washington DC for his internship, and Springfield for the Illinois State Police academy, they remained together and strong. While dating they have traveled together by visiting Washington DC, Las Vegas, Tennessee, Florida, Minnesota and took a Caribbean cruise together. Michael and Emily enjoy cooking and baking together, dancing like fools, laughing nonstop and playing with their dog Storm. Michael and Emily are blessed to be surrounded by their amazing family and friends and are excited to spend their special day with them.
