At 630 feet, the Arch is the world's tallest arch, the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere, and Missouri's tallest accessible building. We recommend taking the elevator to the top (if you're not claustrophobic or scared of heights) and visiting the museum underneath.
Spanning 1,371 acres, Forest Park has a variety of attractions; particular favorites are the Saint Louis Zoo (free), the Missouri History Museum (free), the Saint Louis Art Museum (free), and the Boathouse (not free, but a great place to have a drink and rent a paddle boat).
Also known informally as Shaw's Garden for founder and philanthropist Henry Shaw. The Garden's herbarium, with more than 6.6 million specimens, is the second largest in North America. The Garden is known for its bonsai growing, which can be seen year round.
St. Louis has a vibrant beer scene (check out Side Project, Perennial Artisan Ales, Earthbound, Urban Chestnut, Four Hands, and Alpha). So, while we can't say Anheuser-Busch has the best beer in the city, it does have the best brewery tour, complete with Clydesdales and jokes about Coors.
