This is debatable. We definitely met our sophomore year at Tufts University, but Mike remembers meeting Catherine in the dining hall, while Catherine swears this never happened and we met at the mall. (Full disclosure: Mike is almost definitely right.) We were friends for a year before making it official in April of 2011.
We lived together in four cities and on both coasts, before settling in the middle of the country in 2015. We survived living with both sets of parents in San Diego and DC and sharing 500 square feet on the Upper East Side (complete with asylum-white walls and very few windows). After Catherine graduated with her MA from NYU in 2015, we moved to St. Louis so she could attend Washington University for her Ph.D., while Mike kept his New York engineering job and transitioned to working remotely. We became homeowners in 2017, but most importantly dog parents in 2016. If you've talked to either of us for more than five minutes, you know that we're obsessed with Molly, our four-year-old beagle/lab mix, the sweetest, laziest, and most food-motivated dog you'll ever meet. Mike proposed in Nashville in March of 2018, one month before our seven year anniversary.
