We're getting Married!!

Our story began the way it does in the movies, on a honky-tonk dance floor. I first noticed Anika at Moonshine Flats, dancing in her cowgirl boots and hat on one of my trips down from San Francisco. She had a joy and confidence that made her impossible to forget. A couple of years later, God saw the desire of my heart and placed us on the same dance team, sending us to other states to perform at private events and country music festivals. Through our travels, I found myself consistently drawn to her and was impressed not only by her kindness and charisma, but also by the way she could turn a simple continental breakfast into a five-star work of art. On our last trip of the year, I made a point to start learning about the life she wanted and quietly took mental notes. Then my pursuit truly began. I made up reasons like “I’m looking for a golf course to become a member at, coincidentally in your neighborhood” to try and get a lunch date with her, but she was not falling for it. However, the Man upstairs had my back, because sooner than later she realized how silly it would be to pass up such a stellar guy. Next thing you know, we’re speechless in a hallway, trying to fathom how we could love someone so quickly. We realized how only Divine intervention could have drawn up such a perfect partnership in life. We felt incredibly blessed to receive a love we had both prayed and hoped for. From that moment on, we committed to doing everything we could to honor this gift and build a strong, lasting foundation rooted in our faith. Excitedly, we immediately introduced our families before taking a deep dive into growing ourselves individually and together. We dedicated ourselves to dating with intention, going through premarital counseling, healing our pasts, studying scripture, surrounding ourselves with faith-filled influences, and deciding what kind of life we want to build. This process has not been without challenges, and there were times we leaned heavily on the Lord and each other, but every step has strengthened our commitment and deepened our love. Now, as we look forward to our future as the Coxes, we are filled with gratitude, excitement, and peace. We know the journey ahead will be incredibly meaningful and rewarding, and we couldn’t be more thankful to walk it together.
