Travel Note

Denver to Vail, Vail to Camp Hale

Our wedding is at Historic Camp Hale south of Vail Colorado. We are excited to have everyone come celebrate with us but want to make sure everyone knows what our special day entails. Vail, Colorado is about 2 hours from Denver International Airport (DIA). We recommend folks stay in Vail because of the access to restaurants and other things to do as well as access to the shuttle service to and from the venue. The venue, Historic Camp Hale, is another 20-30 mins south of Vail. It is a beautiful and scenic drive and you are more than welcome to drive all the way to the venue, but strongly suggest that if your are drinking you take advantage of the shuttle service. Both areas are at elevations (8000-9000ft above sea level) and suggest you plan on flying into Denver and acclimating a bit before driving straight up to the mountains.

DoubleTree by Hilton Vail

This hotel is conveniently located close to US 24 South, which you will take for about 25/30 minutes to get to our ceremony/reception. The hotel also has a free shuttle running from the hotel to Vail Village, for anyone looking to explore the mountain resort town. Vail Village includes lots of restaurants, shops, and a gondola that takes you to the top of Vail Mountain for scenic views, dining and more. Green Bridge Inn

This hotel is a family-owned, boutique inn with 14 rooms, located in the tiny mountain town of Red Cliff. It includes on-site provisions and a liquor store on the main floor. Red Cliff boasts only one hotel and one restaurant, so if you're looking for a quaint stay, nestled in the mountains near our venue, this is it! Flight

Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport is probably the most economical of flights from the West, Midwest, South, and East coasts, but there are other regional airports nearby. There are also many rental car options at DIA. Please note: Vail is about a 2 hr drive on I-70W from the airport. I-70 is a major highway, but mountain weather is always unpredictable, so plan accordingly and drive safely please!

Shuttle

Getting to and back from our wedding celebration

September 20, 2019 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Shuttles will be available at the following pick-up and drop-off locations: – DoubleTree Hilton Vail: 2211 N Frontage Rd W, Vail, CO 81657 – Green Bridge Inn: 104 Water St, Red Cliff, CO 81649 * Pre-ceremony pick-up time is promptly at 2:45 pm from either of the above locations. * Post-ceremony shuttles will leave around 10 pm. If there is a group of people ready to go around 9 pm, some will be available for this. * If you are staying elsewhere than one of these two hotels, please plan to Uber to one of the shuttle locations. Ubers and other taxi services are available in Vail back to your places of rest. No parking is available at the Doubletree Hilton Vail for non-guests.
