Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 20th, 2019.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Casual cocktail, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose and go barefoot! Please note: given good weather, the ceremony will be on grass outside. We recommend leaving stilettos at home.

Question

How far is Vail from the Denver International Airport? And, how far is Camp Hale from Vail?

Answer

Vail, Colorado, is about two hours from Denver International Airport and is the recommended area to stay if you plan on using the shuttle system to and from our wedding celebration. Camp Hale is the location of our venue and is a 30-40 minute drive from Vail down a beautiful mountain road (US-24).

Question

What will the weather be like? Is there an inclement weather plan?

Answer

Weather during this time of the year will be in the mid-to-high 60s. Lows will be in the higher 30s. Please plan to bring a jacket for night time, but please note: the reception will take place in a heated tent. We will also have a bonfire during the reception for extra warmth, s’mores and starry views!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, we will have shuttles that will be transferring folks to and from the ceremony and reception. The Shuttle locations will be located at the DoubleTree Hilton in Vail and Green Bridge Inn in Red Cliff. If you are not staying at one of the following hotels, please plan to take a taxi to and from one of them to hop on a shuttle pre and post festivities. Uber is available to take you from the shuttle stops back to your place of rest. Pick up times, pre-ceremony, are promptly at 2:45 pm, either at the Doubletree Hilton Vail or the Green Bridge Inn. Post reception, shuttles are available to leave starting at 9pm if there is a group of people ready to go. Otherwise, shuttles will be leaving around 10pm from Camp Hale back to the Doubletree or the Green Bridge Inn. We encourage guests to take advantage of these shuttles, as driving on mountain roads can be dangerous at night, especially after a few drinks!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, please see the schedule page for a lineup of activities throughout the weekend. We also encourage everyone to get out of the cities and take a hike! Enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains because we absolutely love having this mountain range in our backyard!

Question

I have a food allergy and/or dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please reach out to us directly and we will make sure the catering company knows of your request.

Question

What is the elevation in Vail? What is the elevation at Camp Hale?

Answer

The elevation of Vail is 8,022 feet above sea level. The elevation at Camp Hale is even higher at 9,200 feet. Please be cognizant of this and stay hydrated throughout the weekend! You will get drunker quicker, we promise! If you struggle with altitude sickness, please remember to bring ibuprofen, drink lots of water, and it, also, wouldn't hurt to pick up some extra oxygen boosters. Take it easy if you arrive early! We don’t recommend climbing any 14er mountain peaks ;)

Question

What is Camp Hale?

Answer

Camp Hale is historic because the 10th Mountain Division, an unit of 15,000 men, trained here in mountaineering and skiing techniques during WWII. Some saw combat in Italy during the war. Most of the buildings have been torn down, but foundations and other "footprints" remain. The 99th Infantry Battalion (Viking Battalion) also trained at Camp Hale. There are interpretive signs along US Route 24, explaining the history and accomplishments of Camp Hale.
