Welcome to our Happy Place: Cape Cod

We met at Duke University in graduate school, where we were luckily put on the same 'group project' team our first semester. These teams did all related course-work together for the entire semester so we spent a significant amount of time with one another. One night, when working on homework together over Enzo's pizza, we had that shared feeling that "this was something different".

We have two treasured travel locations that we try to visit annually: Cape Cod while its warmer in the Northeast and Miami during the colder Winter months. Mike proposed during our last Miami trip in December of '22 at one of our favorite restaurants, Casa Tua. We sat in a private corner, our table was covered in roses, and the ring came with dessert (molten lava cake). Mike would later admit that he had very little appetite (very unusual if you know him well) because he was thinking about the possibility that the hostess could take off with the ring! It ended up being a perfect evening and in the days that followed we were spoiled with perfect Miami weather.
