Where and when did you get married?

Answer

We got married civilly on March 3rd and were sealed in the Lima Peru Temple on March 5th.

How did you meet?

Answer

We met on the dating app Mutual in July of 2020. We started talking and just never stopped. Somewhere along the way, we fell in love.

When did you meet in person?

Answer

We met in person after 15 months of online dating, nightly video calls, etc. After Richard's student visa was denied, I (Mikayla) made the decision to fly down to Peru to be with him. We spent two beautiful weeks together before I had to return to the states to finish school and make wedding preparations.

What are your plans now?

Answer

We are enjoying our time in Peru and working on paperwork for Richard to get his visa to immigrate to the United States. This will take about 2 years to complete but hopefully won't take that long. I am working as an editor for a RV blog and Richard is working for Teleperformance.

Will you have a reception when you come back to the U.S.?

Answer

YES! We can't wait to party with everyone! We are so sad you have to miss out, but don't worry, we will have a grand party when we come back. We hope you all can make it in the future!

How can I send a wedding gift?

Answer

As it is difficult and EXPENSIVE to send things to Peru, if you would like to contribute to our new lives together we would greatly appreciate financial support. You can use Venmo or this Zola registry to contribute to our "Getting Richard's Visa Fund".
