Our first look and recap of our wedding day.

Our Wedding!

We are excited to announce that we will be getting sealed in the Lima Peru Temple, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on March 5th, 2022. Our civil marriage will take place on March 3rd. Anyone who wishes to take a spontaneous trip to Peru is more than welcome to party with us. Message us for more information. We will live in Peru until Richard obtains a visa to live in the U.S. When we return we will be sure to have a grand party so you can all help us celebrate our new, crazy, and exciting life together. Thank you all for your love, support, prayers, and well-wishes.

Our Story in a Nutshell

In the midst of a pandemic that kept everyone apart, two people found each other from across the world. Mikayla and Richard met on a dating app in July of 2020. Being stuck in their homes without social interaction, they were able to find a new home in each other. Richard lives in Lima, Peru with his family. Mikayla lives in Riverton, Utah with hers. Both were finishing their University degrees. They began texting, then video calling, and never stopped. Despite living in different countries and dating online they fell madly in love. Richard tried to get a visa to continue his studies and career in the United States but was denied not once, but twice. These difficulties didn't phase them. Knowing that God was on their side and had a plan for their lives they continued to plan B. After 15 months of never having met each other in person, Mikayla finally hopped on a plane and landed in his arms. Two weeks in paradise confirmed that they were perfect for each other and deeply in love. They choose each other over the distance, over the sea, over the phone, and will continue to choose each other for the rest of their lives. That was the easy part. Now they face even more difficulties to achieve their goals. They dream of a life together studying, working, and growing in Peru and eventually in the US. After getting married they will begin the long and expensive process for Richard to get his green card to live in the United States. They are excited to invite you all to their wedding in Peru, and of course, their second reception in Utah after he gets his visa and they return to the states. They wish you could all come to celebrate with them and can't wait for the day to celebrate in the US with all of Mikayla's friends and family.
