An Aufruf (pronounced owf-roof) is a Jewish tradition in which the groom (or couple) is called up to the Torah for an aliyah, a recitation of blessings, the Shabbat morning before their wedding. For us, celebrating our Aufruf is especially meaningful because it brings together our friends and family with the Cleveland community we love so much. Bringing together our people to celebrate our joy is so special! We will be in shul all morning, and you're welcome to join us but please don't feel obligated to stay the entire time! We ask that you confirm in the "Kiddush" event whether you will be joining our congregation for Kiddush afterwards! Attire is anything synagogue appropriate. Please ensure your shoulders are covered.

Following Shabbat morning services, you're invited to join us for Kiddush (a celebratory meal) with our community! Kiddush is served buffet-style and is kosher.

Join us for the lead-up to the Chuppah! The Ketubah signing is the formal signing of the Jewish marriage contract. We can't wait to display ours, created in Israel by an Israeli artist, in all of the homes we'll share together. Prior to the Chuppah, we will be surrounded by family and friends for a tisch, a celebration that includes l'chaims, singing, brachot, and celebration.

Jewish weddings take place under a Chuppah, a canopy that symbolizes the home the bride and groom will build together—open on all sides to welcome community, love, and support. We've been dreaming about ours for quite some time! Our Chuppah will be in our Shul's sanctuary. We ask that you ensure your shoulders are covered in the sanctuary.
