We're Getting Married

Mikaela y Eric se conocieron en la preparatoria, cuando ambos jugaban fútbol en FC Dallas.
Durante el penúltimo año de Mikaela y el último año de preparatoria de Eric, sus equipos viajaron a California. Ahí se encontraron con un grupo de amigos, pasaron tiempo juntos, y desde entonces comenzó a crecer una amistad. Después de ese viaje, mantuvieron el contacto, siempre pendientes el uno del otro, incluso cuando la vida los llevó por caminos diferentes. Justo dos días antes de que Mikaela regresara a Houston para su último año de la universidad, decidieron salir a cenar. Esa cena se convirtió en horas de conversación asta que el mesero pasó tres veces antes de que finalmente ordenaran, y terminaron cerrando el lugar! Aunque aún no sabían exactamente qué significaba todo eso, Eric decidió visitar a Mikaela en Houston una semana después. Ese fin de semana aclaró todo. Un mes después de aquella cena, el 13 de agosto de 2023, Eric le pidió a Mikaela que fuera su novia. Desde ese momento han sido inseparables, y están convencidos de que fue el Señor quien los unió, en Su tiempo perfecto y a Su manera. Su relación se ha construido sobre años de amistad, profundo respeto, una fe compartida y un amor que se siente fuerte y lleno de paz. Están inmensamente agradecidos por cómo Dios ha guiado su camino, y están muy emocionados de comenzar este nuevo capítulo, no solo tomados de la mano, sino con Él en el centro. No pueden esperar a celebrar este día con todos ustedes, quienes han orado con ellos, los han apoyado y amado en cada etapa de su historia.

Mikaela and Eric met in high school, both playing soccer for FC Dallas. During her junior year and his senior year of high school, both of their teams happened to travel to California. They met up with a group of friends, spent time together, and from there, a friendship began to grow. After that trip, They stayed in touch, always checking in on each other, even as life took them in different directions. Just two days before Mikaela was heading back to Houston for her senior year of college, they decided to grab dinner. That dinner turned into hours of conversation, the waiter went by three times before they finally ordered and eventually closed the place down. Still unsure of what it all meant, Eric made a trip to visit Mikaela in Houston a week later. That weekend made everything clear. A month after that first dinner, on August 13, 2023, Eric asked Mikaela to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, they have been inseparable, and they truly believe it was the Lord who brought them together in His perfect way and in His perfect time. Their relationship has been built on years of friendship, deep respect, shared faith, and a love that feels both strong and full of peace. They are so thankful for the way God has guided their journey, and they are incredibly excited to begin this next chapter, not only hand in hand, but with Him at the center. They can’t wait to celebrate this day with all of you who have prayed with them, supported them, and loved them through every season.
