We aren’t the kind of people who embrace mystical concepts or divination, but it sure feels like the world wanted us to find each other. San Francisco is the frame in which our story begins. Both of us landed in the Bay Area seeking to build a great career in the Mecca of technology and innovation. Needless to say, neither Marta nor Miguel had much faith on finding an elegible bachelor/ette in this area… but the coincidences in our path were too many to keep us apart. Marta and Miguel were both born and raised in Madrid, Spain. Luckily, we are both blessed with being born into the two best nationalities in the world, the United States and Spain. JACKPOT! At 5yr old, Marta spent three years living in Seattle, WA. And that’s where things get crazy. Miguel’s family roots reside in Seattle, the beautiful Pacific Northwest to which he moved for 4 years during college. Seattle will always be a magical place to us, with incredible family and friends to keep visiting for a lifetime. After graduating from her Masters, Marta moves to Dubai for a year and lives one of the most amazing chapters of her life. Back in Madrid early 2022, Marta is not done exploring the world and makes a move for San Francisco! Near that same time, Miguel receives a job offer in the Bay Area, packs his bags summer of 2022 and leaves his beloved Seattle behind, not knowing he’s steps away from meeting the love of his life. And social media finally did something right… WhatsApp and Instagram (praise Meta) brought us together, we met on August 22nd and instantly couldn’t stop thinking about each other. Wanting to squeeze as much time together as we could, we moved in together after just 5 months, setting our current home in Mountain View, CA. We have since added our crazy chocolate lab Mocha to our small family, bringing in a bit of chaos but definitely a lot of love into our home. And why Llanes? Llanes easily becomes an obsession in all whom are lucky to visit. Miguel is lucky to have family roots and have spent much of his life in this beautiful coastal town. Llanes, it's people, and the local Virgin of La Guia, hold a prominent spot in Miguel’s heart, a spot he most wishes to share with Marta, our families and closest friends. Ninguno de los dos somos el tipo de personas que creen en conceptos místicos o supersticiosos, pero cierto parece que el mundo quería que nos encontráramos. San Francisco es el marco donde comienza nuestra historia. Ambos aterrizamos en la Bahía buscando forjar una carrera profesional en la meca de la tecnología y la innovación. No cabe duda, que ni Marta ni Miguel tenían mucha fe en encontrar a su "media naranja" en esta zona… pero las coincidencias en nuestro camino eran demasiadas como para mantenernos separados. Los dos hemos nacido y nos hemos criado en Madrid, España. Ambos tenemos la enorme suerte de haber nacido con las dos mejores nacionalidades del mundo: la estadounidense y la española. Nada mal! De los 5 a los 8 años, Marta pasó un pedazo de su infancia en Seattle (Washington). Y aquí es donde la cosa se vuelve interesante; parte de las raíces familiares de Miguel están precisamente en Seattle, el precioso “Pacific Northwest” al que se mudó durante 4 años para ir a la universidad. Seattle siempre será un lugar mágico para nosotros, con una familia y amigos increíbles a los que seguiremos visitando toda la vida. Tras terminar su máster, Marta se mudó a Dubái durante un año, viviendo uno de los capítulos más alucinantes de su vida. De vuelta en Madrid a principios de 2022, Marta aún no había terminado de explorar el mundo y ¡puso rumbo a San Francisco! Casi al mismo tiempo, Miguel recibió una oferta de trabajo en la zona de la Bahía; hizo las maletas en el verano de 2022 y dejó atrás su querida Seattle, sin saber que estaba a solo unos pasos de conocer al amor de su vida. Y, por fin, las redes sociales sirvieron para algo bueno… WhatsApp e Instagram (bendita Meta) nos unieron. Nos conocimos el 22 de agosto e instantáneamente no pudimos dejar de pensar el uno en el otro. Con ganas de exprimir al máximo nuestro tiempo juntos, nos mudamos a vivir juntos a los 5 meses, estableciendo nuestro hogar actual en Mountain View, California. Desde entonces, hemos sumado a nuestra pequeña familia a Mocha, nuestra loquísima perrita, que ha traído un poco de caos pero, sobre todo, muchísimo amor a nuestro hogar. ¿Y por qué Llanes? Llanes se convierte fácilmente en una obsesión para todo aquel que lo visita. Miguel tiene la suerte de tener raíces allí y de haber pasado gran parte de su vida en esta preciosa villa marinera. Llanes, su gente y su Virgen de la Guía, ocupan un lugar privilegiado en el corazón de Miguel; un lugar que desea compartir con Marta, con nuestras familias y con nuestros amigos más cercanos. Estamos deseando compartir los mejores días de nuestras vidas con todos vosotros en el mejor lugar del mundo. ¡Con mucho amor, de Marta y Miguel!
