How We Met

In January 2018, Miguel and Keysia met at a young adults church service in Gilbert, AZ. Keysia was fairly new to the church, while Miguel was visiting for the first time. After exchanging a few friendly words before and after service, they were both separately invited to go out to eat with a group, they both agreed to go, not knowing the other was. And over terrible tacos..lol... they had a chance to talk more and get to know each other. No contact info was exchanged that night but Miguel knew that if it was meant to be, another opportunity would come. A little over a week later was Super Bowl Sunday, Keysia was at a party with some friends where a friend brought up Miguel and the obvious chemistry between him and Keysia. Though she was interested, she honestly didn't think anything would come of it and brushed it off.. Later that day, however, she was scrolling through Facebook and guess who popped up in the "People You May Know"?!... Miguel. To which her friend excitedly grabbed her phone and friended Miguel on her behalf. The next morning, Keysia woke up to a message from Miguel and the rest was history...

The Proposal

First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage...

One week before their 2 year anniversary on July 6, 2020, Miguel asked Keysia to be his wife at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Tempe, AZ. It was the last week before Miguel's move back to Miami so he disguised the proposal by saying it was their "Last Fancy Date" before he moved. He didn't tell Keysia where they were going and made her close her eyes on the way. Miguel and Keysia got to the Gardens and started walking around. Funny thing is, Keysia was just enjoying the garden, wanting to take pictures in different places but Miguel was a man on a mission to get us to a certain place by a certain time and would always say, "No, I think we can find a better place! Let's keep going!" lol.... we finally ended up hiking to a peak where the sunset was perfectly in place. THEN Miguel said that it would be a great place to take a picture and set up his phone to do so. Keysia didn't know he had actually pressed record as he came back and proposed to her during a beautiful sunset. It was perfect! They finished their engagement night at Alessia's Wine Bistro, the elegant italian restaurant that they spent their first year anniversary.
