Miguel and Jazmin met at 29 Package, a liquor store off Highway 29. Jazmin was working there before Miguel. Miguel came up to Jazmin and told her she looked familiar. She quipped back: "oh, you probably know my brother Bryan, what school did you go to?" "Parkview." Miguel answered, which confirmed it. "Yeah, you know Bryan Benitez" He didn't want the conversation to end there. He said "yeah, you live in the neighborhood with Long and Roberto!" Jazmin laughed and said "Yeah that big white house" and Miguel laughed as he remembered: "your small black dog always chases me down the road when I ride my bike and pass by your house" LOL then Miguel said with a smile "I have always wondered who lived there" and Jazmin rolled her eyes and said "yeah, me!!" They started sharing names of mutual friends they both knew and they found out how close they had been, being in the same circle of friends unbeknownst to them and seeing how they grew up around the same area. After a few months, they worked together every single day and started sharing music tastes. They agreed then and there that they both went through the "EMO phase" and still enjoy it to this day! Eventually that led up to Miguel asking Jazmin to a movie date and afterwards went to Pizza Hut, the one that was there on HWY 29. Even though it’s closed now, it will always be remembered as where it all started. El no quería que la conversación terminara ahí. Dijo: "¡Sí, vives en el mismo barrio que Long y Roberto!". Jazmín se rió y dijo: "Sí, esa casa blanca grande". Miguel se rió y recordó: "Tu perrito negro siempre me persigue por la calle cuando voy en bici y paso por tu casa". Jazmín se rió y dijo con una sonrisa: "Siempre me he preguntado quién vivía ahí". Jazmín le revoleo los ojos y dijo: "¡Sí: yo!". Empezaron a compartir nombres de amigos en común y descubrieron lo cercanos que habían sido, al pertenecer al mismo círculo de amigos sin saberlo y al darse cuenta de que habían crecido en la misma zona. Después de unos meses, trabajaron juntos todos los días y empezaron a compartir gustos musicales. Coincidieron en que ambos habían pasado por la "fase emo" y que aún la disfrutan. Finalmente, Miguel invitó a Jazmín al cine y, después, fueron a Pizza Hut, el que estaba en la autopista 29. Aunque ya cerró, siempre lo recordarán como el lugar donde todo comenzó. Habían estado cerca el uno del otro todo este tiempo, pero nunca se habían cruzado hasta que finalmente lo hicieron. 🥰
