We like to say our story started in 2016—way before either of us had a clue what the future held. Both of our families had just moved to Arizona, and they clicked instantly. Since Mikie and Josh were best friends, that meant we spent a lot of time together. The funny part? We did not like each other. Or even notice each other. At all. But life has a sense of humor, and somewhere between youth ministry nights, bible studies, family hangouts, and growing up, we accidentally became really close friends. Then life pulled us in different directions. Ava moved to Kentucky, and distance made us drift apart. Still, every now and then, a message would pop up—just enough to keep the connection alive without either of us realizing it. Fast forward to 2025. We reconnected… and everything just clicked. What started as catching up turned into something deeper. We quickly became friends again. We started dating in February, jumped straight into a long-distance relationship, and somehow made eight months apart feel easy because it finally felt right. In September, Mikie packed up and moved to Kentucky. Two months later, on November 21, he proposed—turning a friendship we never saw coming into the love story we wouldn’t trade for anything. Now here we are, planning forever and soaking in every minute of it. We’re so excited for all that’s ahead… and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! 💍✨
