Getting to Monteriggioni, Italy

Our wedding estate is located in Chianti Classico, 10 km away from Siena and 60 Km from Florence, in the heart of Tuscany. We highly encourage our guests to stay in Monteriggioni at one of our recommended hotels, so you are close to the venue. Coordinated transportation throughout the weekend will be available from our recommended hotels to the villa. Siena (10 km): 10 min.by car, 20 min. by public transport Florence (60 km): 49 min. by car, 90 min. by public transport Rome (250 km): 2.15 h by car, 2.45 h by public transport Milan (350km): 3.46 h bby car, 4.20 h by public transport

Flight

Florence Peretola Airport (FLR)

For our guests traveling by plane, the closest airport to our venue is Florence Airport (FLR). Those that are flying from the United States, FLR doesn't offer a direct long-haul flight, but the city’s airport Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola is connected to Europe’s major cities like Amsterdam, London, Paris, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, etc. There are many carriers you can book your flights on including KLM, Air France, Swiss, British Airways, Vueling, and more. Florence Airport is approximately 50 minutes from Monteriggioni.

TRENITALIA to Castellina in Chianti-Monteriggioni

For those that will be traveling from another part of Italy or Europe, the train is a great method of transportation to Tuscany. Castellina in Chianti Station is 10 minutes drive away from our venue.

For those that will be traveling from another part of Italy or Europe, the train is a great method of transportation, Trenitalia offers trains into Siena Station. Siena Station is about 18 minutes from our venue.

For those that would like to rent a car and drive from Florence to Monterggioni, The Florence airport offers many car rental options for our guests. Hertz, Enterprise, Budget, Thrifty, Avis, Sixt, and more are all available and offer very easy access from the airport.

Hotel/Lodging Information

Below are some recommended hotel options for our wedding weekend, We do not have coordinated hotel blocks/booking codes as this is not customary in Tuscany! Shuttles will be available from two of these hotels, but given there are so many beautiful lodging options in the countryside we completely understand if you book elsewhere, During the RSVP stage we will ask where you will be staying so we can try to coordinate as many pickup points close to other accommodations as possible, but Monteriggioni Village, and Borgo San Luigi will definitely have shuttle stops.

Hotel Monteriggioni

Hotel Monteriggioni offers a unique atmosphere, elegant rooms, a pool and a restaurant with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside. It is the only hotel located inside the Medieval Fortress of Monteriggioni. This accommodation would be walking distance to our welcome party and will be on the shuttle route to our Wedding Day and Pool Party Venue. Prices range from 360-500 Euros total for two nights with breakfast included.

Borgo San Luigi

Immersed in the Tuscan countryside between Siena and Florence, this 4-star hotel offers high-quality service on 20 acres of rich parkland, just outside of Monteriggioni. You can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing setting at Borgo San Luigi. This 17th-century palace is just 1.2 mi from the motorways and set on an unpaved road. Rest in the shade of the thick gardens, enjoy a swim in the Olympic-sized pool, or savor breakfast outdoors at their wonderful restaurant. Borgo San Luigi is 10 minutes away from our Wedding venue, and 10 minutes away from our Welcome Party Location, Shuttles will be available from this hotel throughout our wedding weekend. Prices range from 350-500 euros for 2 nights with breakfast included.

Grand Hotel Continental Siena - Starhotels Collezione

Once a private palazzo, Grand Hotel Continental is the only 5-star hotel in the historical centre of Siena, located just steps from Piazza del Campo and the Duomo. It is housed in a magnificent 16th-century building boasting cotto floors, frescoed ceilings and original chandeliers. Highlights include an opulent ballroom aptly named the Salone delle Feste and an impressive underground wine cellar where wine tastings are offered daily. The room rates range from 400-700 euros per night, and the hotel is 23 minutes away from our venue.

Immersed within rolling hills of breathtaking Tuscan nature, Castello di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, is an authentic farm estate that invites guests to live from the land. The hotel is 20 minutes away from our venue and welcome party location and will not have a complimentary shuttle service available to our festivities, private transportation can be arranged very easily through the hotel concierge. Prices range from €3,500- €6,500 Total for 2 nights.
