FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We will need you to RSVP by August 5th as we will need to tell the caterers how many people are coming.

Question

Where is Lori & Mickey's wedding ceremony and reception being held?

Answer

Both are being held at The Highlands Historical Society located at 7001 Sheaff Ln, Fort Washington, PA 19034. It's a beautiful mansion with a gorgeous garden space!

Question

What time does the ceremony begin?

Answer

The ceremony beings at 5:00pm on Sunday September 12, 2021, but we ask that guests arrive closer to 4:30pm to avoid anyone who may be running late arriving while the ceremony is in progress.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Although we love your children, we ask that no small children (i.e. under 13) attend this event as to allow all wedding guests (especially parents) the opportunity to relax and celebrate in style!

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes and yes! We are hiring Williamson Caterers to provide a very scrumptious array of food options -- in addition to a beer/wine bar and floating appetizers on the patio, there will be food stations for pasta, entrees, salads, and desserts. Given COVID, a member of the catering staff will be masked, vaccinated, and present to serve you.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes! There is a parking lot on site that is free! It can hold up to 70 cars.

Question

What is the dress code for this occasion?

Answer

Semi-formal, cocktail, and business casual. No need for tuxedos or ball gowns!

Question

What should I bring to this wedding?

Answer

Just you! You are welcome to bring a gift if you'd like, but it's not required (i.e. we have a few registries).

Question

How can I contribute to wedding gifts?

Answer

We have two registries -- one on Zola.com and the other on Amazon.com. Our top goal is to save money to buy our first house, so we do encourage contributing to that particular cash fund (found on the Zola registry). However, the site does charge 2.4% for money transfers, so if you wish to avoid it by sending a check, you may do so by addressing it here: Lori Evensen OR Michael Newman (not Mickey!) 4530 Walnut St, Apt C20 Philadelphia, PA 19139 You are also free to bring a gift to the reception - we will have a table with a guest book that gifts can be placed on.

Question

Where can I send gifts to if I don't buy them off the registry?

Answer

Lori Evensen 121 Moonhill Ln Boalsburg, PA 16827

Question

What festivities are planned during the reception?

Answer

Besides dinner, we will have bocce ball on the back terrace, Lori's art on display throughout the mansion, and music playing from a speaker (some of which features Mickey on drums). We will not have a DJ, formal dancing, bouquet tosses, a formal cutting of a wedding cake, or speeches during the reception. We're not all that interested in traditional wedding antics and instead prefer to have a carefree, low key evening!

Question

What is the policy regarding COVID?

Answer

The caterers are required to be masked and vaccinated, but guests are not. We do encourage everyone to be vaccinated, of course, but we do not require it.

Question

Are there hotels nearby?

Answer

Yes! Please see our Accommodations page above.
