Cocktail attire with a "garden party" vibe. We encourage floral prints, pastel colors, and Earth tones. There is a chance it may get chilly later in the night, so perhaps bring a jacket.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes! Otherwise, we would greatly appreciate if only those named on the invitations RSVP to attend.
We love your kids — we really do! However, due to our limited budget, this will be an adults-only affair. We are only able to accommodate children who are part of our wedding party or who are listed on the RSVP. If anyone needs help with making arrangements for child care, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
While we will not be providing shuttles from hotels to the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, there is free on-site parking across the street from the venue. There is ample parking, but carpooling is recommended to avoid overflow. There are also several lovely hotels within walking distance of the venue for those who would prefer a leisurely stroll to and from the wedding. For those without a vehicle, CapMetro bus route 30 has stops right outside the venue with connections North and South, and rideshare options like Lyft are always available.
All events will take place outdoors. The ceremony will take place in a lovely amphitheater in the middle of the gardens, and the reception will be held underneath the Museum's covered terrace. We expect that the weather should be beautiful and temperate in Austin in mid-November.
After the ceremony, the wedding party and immediate family will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the covered terrace where there will be snacks and drinks until dinner is served at 6:30.
Good questions, especially for a wedding in the middle of Austin! We are very lucky to have free parking on-site and nearby the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. There are some limited spaces directly in front of the museum at 605 Azie Morton Rd., but if this lot is full (which will likely happen very quickly), there is parking located right across the street in front of the (excellently-named) Wright Baseball Field! This should be enough parking for those driving, but if this lot fills up as well, continue driving south down Azie Morton Rd. and the first right after the Wright Field parking lot is another parking lot that should have plenty of free parking. From there it's just a 5 minute walk back to the Garden!
Yes! For those who are up for it, many of us will be walking over to Gibson Street Bar afterwards. Exact times TBD.
