To set the record straight Eric ghosted Makya after 1 conversation because he was going back to Florida. The second time they matched in Monroe he fell head over heels but she wasn't expecting anything serious. After the first phone call that lasted for hours they both knew that something more was there. Makya smiled from ear to ear and Eric's feet were kicking in the air.

After 6 months of long distance and monthly flights they finally said enough was enough. Makya came to visit for a week and was planning on returning to Michigan. However, 2 hours before her flight they both decided they didn’t want to be apart any longer. A few weeks later they drove to Michigan to get Makya’s things. Since then they haven’t been apart for even a day.

When they got to the aquarium, Makya knew something was up. Eric had already told her about the animal meet and greet. She thought that surely this was where the big question would be asked. When they came across a scuba diver cleaning a tank, Makya quickly lost interest. Begging everyone to go to the touch tank that had just opened, she almost missed her own engagement. Eric quickly started to panic but he was able to maneuver Makya into place where he would get down on one knee and the scuba diver would hold up a sign asking her to marry him. Makya basically blacked out but of course she said yes.
