Welcome to our Love Story

On January 9th, 1995, a boy and a girl met in the counselors office at Sterling High School. He says he noticed her eyes first and she says it was his smile that drew her in. They dated, fell in love and thought it would be happy ever after. However, pride and ego got in the way along with a loss neither of them were ready to deal with at such a young age causing them to go their separate ways. 28 years later, thanks to social media, we finally get our happy ever after.

I was sitting on my couch talking with my bestie on the phone when I received a Facebook message. It simply said "hey stranger how have you been? Look what I found" After a brief freak out, I was able to breathe again.......and Tracy and I began communicating on the regular. We met about a week later out front of County Market in Sterling of all places and my heart skipped a few beats and I knew I was hooked. He says he's always been hooked since the day he put eyes on me.

We had scheduled family pictures with all of his family and mine for a beautiful day in October but like everything, life had other plans. it rained that day so we had to find a new location, and my mom fell the week before breaking her hip, with a hospital stay and surgery so we had to change plans. The day before pictures, he proposed to me in my mom's hospital room. We wanted her to know before anyone let it slip to her. So he got down on one knee, gave me my ring....... and took it back. The day of family pictures came and we all gathered at beautiful Oak Lane in Oregon. Once all the individual families pictures were done, we gathered under a large LOVE sign for a group shot. After 3 or 4 shots, Tracy removed himself from the back of the group. You heard his nephews whisper things like "where are you going", "we're not done with pictures" and "what the hell are you doing?" Tracy got down on one knee in front of our families and told me that he has loved me for 20 plus years and asked me to be his wife. As soon as he got down on his knee, we heard "ohhhhhh" and "it's about time!" I cried and of course I said yes.
