If you've found this website, you are very special to us and we can't wait to share our special day with you.
Of course, not everyone remembers their first day but this feels about right, as every love story starts somewhere. What started from a few texts online, no mutual friends, just two strangers looking for a new start. Michelle and Tommy connected over fun topics, food, our jobs, and small, quirky moments. Days later, text conversations led to a spontaneous dinner plan initiated by Tommy--9 pm dinner at a Braum’s in Arlington. “See you in 30 minutes,” he says. Tommy is living in Lewisville TX, and Michelle lived in Benbrook TX, with her parents at the time, so things had to be met halfway. The two met for the first time face to face--Michelle with a floral pink COVID mask and Tommy wearing a royal blue bandana over his face. They walk up to the cash register to order. She insisted on paying for dinner because she wanted to make the best first impression, but it ended with awkward conversations, as most first dates do. Something had drawn them to drive many miles to meet each other for this perfectly awkward plan with short topics, and nervous laughs until it was time to head home. After saying their goodbyes that peaceful night and checking in that they made it home, Tommy made sure to let her know he had a great time and that she was interesting. She admitted she was a little awkward but he hadn't noticed. They continue to text each other for a couple more hours like any Hallmark movie, leading Tommy wanting to meet her again and again--promising to cover dinner THIS time!
As days and weeks pass, connections deepen. Who knew Michelle had drawn hearts in her journal and Tommy would pick up the phone the second she rings. Through many shared adventures, road trips, and late-night talks on the phone, love grew naturally. They learned how to support one another, grow, and mature when life gets uncomfortable and challenging, even when they challenged each other. They celebrated personal, and shared, milestones. They also found a church together and attended a bible study that was intended for married and engaged couples. They learned that love is more than a feeling; it's also a choice. Their relationship grew from sweet beginnings into something steady and full of unconditional love--a love that cannot be proven or explained further.
On July 2, 2025, Michelle had just finished her week-long work trip near Washington DC. Tommy flew out to meet with Michelle to travel around D.C. together, as her work trips make the best free vacations. But before that, Tommy needed to drop off Michelle’s dog at her parents’ house because they were taking the second shift of dog sitting before he departs the next day. Michelle’s mother had prepared a hot meal for Tommy after his long drive to Benbrook. Just the three of them enjoyed dinner until it was late. Tommy wanted to take this lasting opportunity to ask for her parents' blessing to marry her, but out of respect, he would give them time to think about it. The next day, Michelle was wrapping up her last day at work in the Gaylord Convention Center in Maryland. Her Dad had texted her asking for Tommy’s phone number because he had "questions" about a classic car (it was, of course, a ruse). Tommy had just landed at the Washington National Airport and coincidentally gets a phone call from her Dad. The parents had discussed and agreed to give their blessing to marry their daughter. (It's giving The Godfather). Tommy and Michelle spent their next days adventuring in D.C until it was finally July 4th. Tommy strategically planned the evening to walk to the bottom of the Washington Monument before the fireworks show. Rushing to leave the hotel, picnic blanket hiding in a backpack and GoPro camera in hand, Tommy was ready. They picked a perfect patch of grass, where they watched the sun go down. To Michelle, it was a regular fireworks show, and to no surprise, the GoPro would record the magnificent fireworks show with the Washington Monument viewed in the background. Surrounded by the energy of the city and the finale of the fireworks lighting up the sky for the last time, one unforgettable moment changed everything. Tommy asked the question in confidence, and Michelle said "yes" in tears.
Now, we can’t wait to celebrate our love and share this story with the people who mean the most to us. As we begin this new chapter as husband and wife, we are so grateful for the love and support that has surrounded us every step of the way these past 5-6 years. We’re beyond excited to say “I do” and continue our forever together. We truly thank God for the small paths we were given that led us to where we are now.
