Your comfort is important to us. Semi-formal or cocktail attire is preferred, and since San Francisco tends to stay cool in May—typically 55–65°—we recommend an extra layer for the evening. Out of respect for the couple, please avoid wearing white.
As much as we would love to include everyone, our venue’s limited capacity allows us to host only those formally invited. We warmly welcome all to join us later for a nightcap at the Tonga Room in the Fairmont Hotel—the more the merrier.
Absolutely! You can find our suggested accommodations under the Hotels tab.

We fell in love with the elegance and history of San Francisco City Hall, and the Mayor's Balcony offers one of the most beautiful and intimate ceremony spaces in the city.
As our wedding is very intimate, we kindly ask guests to remain “unplugged” during the ceremony so our photographer can fully capture this special moment. After the ceremony, there will be time for guests to take photos with the happy couple.
We will miss you! Please RSVP no on the website so we can finalize our guest count.
Yes! The reception will include cocktails, dinner, and toasts.
Since we will not be having a traditional wedding reception, we thought it would be fun to continue the celebration with late-night dancing and tropical drinks. After the reception dinner, anyone who would like to keep the festivities going is warmly invited to join us for late-night fun at one of San Francisco’s most iconic tiki bars: Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar Fairmont San Francisco 8:30 PM until closing Enjoy tropical drinks, live music, and a little bit of island magic. 🌺🍹💃 Everyone is welcome to stop by, relax, and celebrate with us!
Once inside, please make your way to the Mayor's Balcony on the 2nd Floor. Signs and elevators will help guide you.
Not at all! Come to whichever events work for your schedule. We're just excited to celebrate with you however you can join us.
Absolutely! San Francisco City Hall is one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in San Francisco—and in the United States—and guests are welcome to explore and take photos throughout the building. You will also likely see other couples celebrating their weddings, which adds to the joyful and festive atmosphere of the day.
No reservations are required—we will simply gather there for anyone who would like to continue celebrating. However, guests who would prefer a table or seating will need to make a reservation directly with the venue. Otherwise, you can find us at the main bar and on the dance floor. Yes! The after-party is completely optional and just for fun.
Morning ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall tend to be a bit quieter. Since it is a public building, it is open to everyone—including tourists, photographers, and other couples celebrating their weddings. We also loved the idea of beginning the day surrounded by the beauty and grandeur of the building, and then continuing the celebration later into the evening.
After the ceremony and photos, we'll spend the afternoon celebrating privately before rejoining everyone for the evening reception and festivities.
