Glendalough is about a 30 minute drive from the venue. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Wicklow, known for its scenic walking trails and early medieval ruins. You’ll find a round tower, old churches, and beautiful lake views all in one spot. There are both short and longer walks depending on how much time you have. Glendalough is where we got engaged, so it’s particularly special to us!
Russborough House & ParkRussborough House & Park
Russborough House is a grand Palladian mansion built in the 1740s, known for its elegant architecture and rich history. Inside, you can explore rooms filled with fine art and antique furniture. The estate also features 200 acres of parkland with walking trails, a hedge maze, and a walled garden. It’s a lovely spot for a relaxed afternoon, and there’s a café on-site for lunch or coffee. Only a 10 minute drive from the venue!
Blessington Greenway TrailBlessington Greenway Trail
A peaceful walking trail that runs along Blessington Lake, perfect for a morning stroll. You can walk all the way to Russborough House if you’re up for it, or just enjoy the views near town.
Lough Tay (Guinness Lake)Lough Tay (Guinness Lake)
Lough Tay, also known as the Guinness Lake, is a stunning lake in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland. It's famous for its dark-colored water and the white sand shoreline on its northern edge, which resemble a pint of Guinness. This is about a 40 minute drive from the venue but so worth it!
Sally GapSally Gap
If you want to take the scenic route to Glendalough or Lough Tay, the Sally Gap is regarded as one of the most scenic drives in Ireland. The Sally Gap is essentially a crossroads surrounded by sweeping views of blanket bog on one of the east-to-west passes across the Wicklow mountains. If you decide to take on the drive, just bear in mind the roads can get very narrow and windey. This may add some time to your drive. But if you’re a confident driver, the views are well worth it!

If the spa isn't quite your scene, the 18-hole championship course at Tulfarris might be. Set against views of the Blessington Lakes and Wicklow Mountains, it also features a driving range, clubhouse, and pro shop.
