Our venue is well-suited for formal attire, but please wear what makes you feel your best! The ceremony will be outside and the reception will be in the hotel ballroom. Make sure to bring a layer—it could still be chilly in the mountains in May, especially in the evening.
We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration.
Parking is available to guests staying at the Surf Hotel & Chateau. There are limited parking spots available to the public, so we recommend staying within walking distance if possible. You might also be able to find street parking or public lots closer to downtown Buena Vista.
Buena Vista is a small mountain town that does not have ride-share services (Uber, Lyft, etc.), and there will not be a shuttle to/from the venue. Your best option is to stay at or within walking distance of the hotel/venue (check out the Travel page for more info).
Buena Vista sits at ~8,000 feet in elevation, so the air is a bit thinner and the sun is more intense up there. For our sea-level guests especially, it might take a couple of days to acclimate to the altitude. If you have time in your travel schedule, spending a night in Denver before making your way to the mountains will give your body more time to adjust. Otherwise, do as the Coloradans do: drink lots of water and wear sunscreen!
