Where is Carruth Wine Cellars?

Answer

Our event is at the Solana Beach location: 118 S Cedros Ave #C Solana Beach, CA 92075. It is on the corner of Cedros Ave and Lomos Santa Fe Drive. Please note there are two other locations in the San Diego area. We will not be at those locations.

What is the attire?

Answer

California Cocktail attire! That means: FEMALES: short dresses, long dresses (not ballgowns), sundresses, jumpsuits, rompers, sandals or heels/flats. Think colorful, floral, FUN, anything goes! (Michelle will not be wearing heels, likely sandals or converse shoes so you get the vibe) MALES: a suit (with or without jacket or tie), shoes. Or nice pants and dress shirt. Carruth is right by the beach and we want a beachy vibe so please don't feel the need to wear anything too fancy. Think comfort so you can dance!

Are kids invited?

Answer

Unfortunately not. We love all the little ones, but this is an adult only event.

Is there parking? What is the transportation?

Answer

If you have a rental car and plan to be sober to drive to and from the event, there is open parallel parking on Cedros Avenue. In addition, you can park for FREE in the parking lot of Belly Up. You may want to get there early to look for parking as it is a Saturday in the summertime, so things are busy in San Diego. If you are not driving, we highly suggest taking an uber or carpooling with others that are driving/ubering. If you are staying at the Solana Beach/Del Mar Marriott on S Coast Highway, you can definitely walk if you are interested in getting steps it is a short .75m walk.

What is the timeline of events at said celebration?

4-4:15pm - arrive 4:30pm - mini ceremony starts 4:45/5pm - mini ceremony ends 5pm - cocktail hour 6pm - dinner begins 6:45pm - speeches begin 7:30-10pm - dancing begins 8:30pm - dessert is served

When does it start and end?

Answer

4:30-10pm. The short ceremony will start at 4:30pm so please arrive prior around 4pm and grab a drink before the ceremony begins!

Will there be traffic getting to the venue?

Answer

Likely! Summer is in full swing in San Diego which means tourists, beach days, etc. Please your rides, travel plans and parking accommodations accordingly.

Will there be traditional events?

Answer

Not really! There will be a short ceremony (20 ish mins) and some fun family/friend speeches, but there will not be a bridal party, first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting etc.

Will there be dinner?

Answer

You betcha! Joe and Michelle's favorite pizza place (URBN Pizza) will be on site. There will be heavy apps + sides and a variety of pizza options (vegetarian and gluten free options), appetizers, salads and a pasta option. You will not be hungry we can promise that!

Is the venue inside or outside?

Answer

Both! The inside portion is open planned and there is easy access to the outdoor patio that has lots of seating and space to enjoy the SoCal summer air.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

San Diego in July is typically beautiful! Recommend a light layer for the evening time and on Saturday night at the venue if you want to spend some time outside. There will be heat lamps as well. Definitely bring layers but expect sunshine and 75!

You may want to learn the lyrics to "The Greatest Show" from the Greatest Showman, no that's not a joke. Bring your dancing energy!
