The ceremony will be at Capel Manor Gardens (Bullsmoor Lane Middlesex, Enfield, Waltham Cross EN1 4RQ). There are 30 acres of grounds, including a small zoo! There will be a drinks reception after the ceremony during which you're welcome to explore and enjoy the outdoor space. The gardens close at 5pm so we just need to be off the grounds by then. The reception will be just down the road at Forty Hall Banqueting Suite (Forty Hall Lodge, Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA). This area has lots of beautiful gardens to enjoy as well, but the reception will be held primarily inside the banqueting hall.
For those of you who are driving, there is plenty of free parking at both Capel Manor Gardens and at Forty Hall. For those of you on public transport, the closest Underground station is Oakwood (on the Piccadilly line) and the closest Overground station is Turkey Street (on the Weaver line). It's a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute walk from Capel Manor to Forty Hall. We will not be arranging group transportation between locations so we're hoping those of you who are driving can take a few extra passengers and the rest of us will share Ubers.
Feel free to dress as fancy as you like however it will be summer, so keep it cool and be comfortable! Keep in mind that the first part of the day will be outdoors so plan for grass, dirt paths, and lots of sun.
That's Shani, our dedicated photographer who will work closely with our videographer. Shani is a real sweetheart and very talented at capturing candid moments, so while you can absolutely strike a pose, there is no need as she will be part of the crowd capturing natural moments as they happen. All you need to do is remember to smile and enjoy yourselves! Please feel free to introduce yourself and make her feel welcome.
That's Bevon! He's our videographer and is a natural at capturing beautiful moments on video. Bevon will be mingling, setting up equipment and getting footage of the whole event so our guests can focus on enjoying the day and being present. Feel free to say hello and give him a wave. Bevon's advice if you are nervous around a camera is stop thinking about it and smile, let him do the rest!
In a word, no. We have everything we need and know just how many people in the world don't have that same luxury. Anyone that knows either of us will know how much we have been impacted by the state of the world at the moment and how hard we have worked to make it just a little bit better. That's why we're using our wedding to create ripples of kindness, asking our guests to do a small something that makes things better for someone, somewhere in the world.
Absolutely, as long as you made a note on your invite RSVP. We may know some of your dietary restrictions off the top of our heads, but for the sake of keeping everything organized, we ask that everyone with any dietary restrictions please be sure to make a note on your RSVP so that we can have a list of all dietary needs in one place. If you forgot to add your dietary restrictions to your RSVP, no worries, you can go back to the wedding invite and add a note to your reply. Please be sure to do this! We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to over-eat on our special day.
There will be a DJ at Forty Hall who will play lots of great dancing music. We lean towards hip-hop and R&B (both old and new school), motown classics, and a few of those old, corny pop songs that take you back ... Hayley also loves a bit of country music so we will throw in a few favorites (She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy; Friends in Low Places; Farmer's Daughter; If You're Going Trough Hell; Here for the Party; Take a Back Road). These are great sing-along songs so feel free to get to know them before the day so you can belt out the words with us! The DJ will also be open to requests on the day if there is something in particular you want to hear.
We are so grateful for the thought. We are so lucky to have safety, secure housing and the chance for such a magical day with you all. There really is nothing more we could ask for and so it would mean the world to us to sit back and look at all the good that has been injected into the world by the people we love. In addition, while we are rich in loving friends and family, we are not rich in space and our tiny flat is already bursting with stuff!
