Yes, and we’re working hard to make sure this is a fun and safe event for everyone—probably the first event you will have attended since March! Unfortunately, state laws have required us to reduce guest counts for all events, but we’re pressing forward with a smaller wedding and an option for others who received save the dates to attend the ceremony virtually if they choose.
Based on government regulation, we’re having a smaller wedding than originally planned. This means the venue can keep us distanced appropriately, but it doesn’t mean any major reduction in food or fun! Also, because all indoor events have, or are likely to have, headcount limits, we’ll require RSVPs for all events at your earliest convenience.
For ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, guest counts will be limited and there will be sufficient space between guests (the bride and groom will still have a first kiss, distancing doesn’t apply there). The cocktail hour and reception will proceed more like a swanky dinner party with 8 guests per table max and butlered drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and dinner. We’re still planning on live music, but there are restrictions on dancing. The Reeds has a 23-page protocol they are following to address sanitation and safety. Their staff will have masks on the entire time. For guests, masks are required indoors and outdoors unless at your table or if you have a food or beverage item. Because there will be plenty of food and drink throughout the night, there will be points where guests don’t use masks. For that reason, we’re taking seating requests and will try to sit people with others they know and are comfortable with. We encourage people to wear their masks as much as they desire.
Due to health and safety concerns, we have drastically reduced our headcount. That means we have a few people attending in person, but the majority are being invited virtually. We are a little behind schedule, but please keep an eye out for a mailed invitation with directions on joining us virtually for the wedding ceremony. We will also post updates on how to access the virtual event on this site, so please continue to check back in.
