Our first date was November 12 2021. We met up at Bale Breaker/Yonder Tap Room in Ballard where we both lived at the time. We chatted for so long, when the bar closed we decided to go to another spot, King's Hardware down the street. When Michelle went to the bathroom Alex pulled her chair in closer. Famously, our first date was on a Friday, our second date was the next day and our "third date" was when we both had tickets to the Seattle Reign game on Sunday, all in the same weekend. The more we got to know one another we realized that we had gone to the same concerts, soccer games, and events and even lived in the same neighborhood but our paths had not crossed until then. We seemed to only talk about each other to our friends and family, it wasn’t long till we were in LOVE! Alex moved to Capitol Hill in February of 2022. The next year was filled with settling into our relationship- skiing, hiking and backpacking in the PNW, Michelle's graduation, dog parks with Benny, Alex was inaugurated into the Levy Thanksgiving tradition. There was time at breweries and playing board games with friends, traveling, and Michelle opened her own practice, and lots of back’n forth between Cap Hill to Ballard/Fremont- yet somehow we rarely spent a night apart (of course Benny was always there too)! In 2023 we visited each other’s hometowns of Long Island, New York and Springfield, Missouri. In July of 2023 Michelle FINALLY moved in to the townhouse with Alex. Shortly after we lost dear Benny when he was hit by a car in August of 2023. Navigating that grief together was extremely difficult and we were so thankful to have each other and the support of friends and family. The last year+ has been filled with even more hiking, traveling, watching Avatar the Last Airbender and She-Ra, time with friends and family. We installed a new toilet, smoke detectors, and lighting. We've hosted and cooked for friends, Alex had surgery, and we've played SO MUCH pickleball. We have created such a beautiful life and home together! In July of 2024 Michelle let Alex propose first- on top of Mount Pilchuck Lookout in the North Cascades. Alex forgot everything they were planning to say as soon as Michelle started to cry. Michelle proposed second- in the company of friends at our favorite beach on Lake Washington. We are so excited to do the damn thing of marriage and celebrate with family and friends!
