This is the airport you use to book your plane ticket, Then, from Belize city, you will need to book a flight or a ferry to the island Caye (pronounced key) Caulker. See Flight 2 and Ferry for options.

You'll need to take a taxi (appx. $25 + $5/p, cash only) from the airport to the ferry terminal (tickets: appx. $30/p roundtrip)

You can use Belizean dollars or US dollars anywhere in Belize. The exchange rate is always set at 2 to 1 (2BZE=1USD). Some restaurants and stores accept credit card, but many are cash only. There are ATMs available on the island.

Belize is part of the commonwealth, so one of their official languages is English. The other is Creole :)

Velento Ocean Front Rentals

I've stayed here before and the apartments are quite comfortable! The property is waterfront, has a lovely pool, private dock, and beautiful sunrise views. They have 1, 2, and 3 bedroom options, and every apt has a futon in the living room for additional sleeping capacity. This place is a little further away, meaning it'll be a 10-20 minute walk instead of a 5-10 minute walk. Or you can always rent a golf cart!

Blu Zen Caye Caulker

If you want more of a true resort, luxury tropical vacation vibe, and want to splurge, this is the place for you. Keep in mind though, this resort is north of "The Split". The split is a small canal between the North and South islands. 90% of restaurants, 100% of stores, and the wedding are South of the Split -- meaning anytime you want to pop over to the southside, you'll need to take a 5 minute boat ride.

There are all sorts of options on airbnb at various price points and levels of luxury in Caye Caulker. The island is small enough that you could honestly stay anywhere on the island. But, to keep your walk times / golf cart rides more reasonable, I'd recommend staying anywhere North of Almino Drive and south of the Split. (exception: Blue Zen)

The only modes of transportation on the island are walking, biking and golf carts. This is just one vendor that I've used before; there are several golf cart vendors available on the island.
